Carefully hand carved mother of pearl is the same on both sides of each earring. Each beautiful and light-weight piece of mother-of-pearl is carefully and securely framed with brass, and has a hinge clasp with a secure closure in the back.
Mother of pearl is a smooth, shining, iridescent substance forming the inner layer of some shells. It is strong, resilient, and iridescent.
Since Mother of pearl is made by nature, each pair is unique; color may vary slightly from bright white, to a very light antique golden color.
